G.O.A.L. Relief in Action: Rebuilding St. Elizabeth, Jamaica

Phase 1 of our Hurricane Melissa Relief Mission — helping the families, farmers, and communities of Jamaica’s breadbasket parish rebuild stronger than before.

🌍 Phases of Relief & Rebuilding — Our Commitment to Jamaica

💛 1. Why We Decided to Help

At Gift of Abundant Love (G.O.A.L), our hearts were moved by the devastation Hurricane Melissa left behind — especially in St. Elizabeth and Westmoreland, where entire communities were flattened, farms destroyed, and families displaced.

While many wait for assistance, we choose to act with compassion and urgency. Our mission is simple: to bring relief, restore hope, and rebuild lives — standing side-by-side with the people who need us most.

🤝 2. Who We Are Collaborating With

  • Pashon PR — a leading Public Relations company and dedicated community partner supporting our outreach and visibility efforts.
  • P.U.L (Pashon Uplifting Lives) — the charitable arm of Pashon PR, partnering with G.O.A.L to uplift, empower, and provide direct support to families in St. Elizabeth.
  • N.E.R.U.F — Natasha Elizabeth Russell Upliftment Foundation — known for serving the homeless, elderly, and shut-ins through the NERUF Pantry Initiative, made possible with community donors, Kingston Central Police, and corporate partner GDI Distributors. NERUF joins our mission to bring comfort, care packages, clothing, and love to affected families.
  • The E.I.G.H.T. (Ernest Institute for the Gifted, Talented and Hyperactive) School, Kingston — where students have joined our mission to help others in need.
  • The Kingston Jamaica Police Department — assisting with the collection, organization, and safe transport of donated goods.
  • Local residents and volunteers in St. Elizabeth — already distributing supplies, preparing meals, and supporting families on the ground.
  • G.O.A.L Volunteers in the United Kingdom — working with our U.S. team to raise awareness and coordinate shipments.
  • Fundraising Partners: Zeffy.com and PayPal Giving Fund, enabling donors worldwide to contribute securely.
Together, these partnerships unite communities across Jamaica, the U.K., and the U.S.A. — bringing abundant love, lasting hope, and tangible help to those most affected by Hurricane Melissa.

🕊️ 3. Who We Are Helping — Phase 1: Immediate Relief

Our initial phase focuses on the hardest-hit rural districts of St. Elizabeth and Westmoreland — the “ground zero” communities. While our aid is open to all, our special emphasis is on women and young girls, who often carry the heaviest burden after disaster.

Phase 1 Relief Packages Include:

  • 🩸 Hygiene & Care: sanitary napkins, hygiene kits, diapers, baby formula, toiletries, and clothing.
  • 👟 Footwear & Clothing: slippers, sandals, sneakers, children’s garments.
  • 🍚 Nutrition & Essentials: tuna fish, canned goods, vegetables, rice, flour, oil, canned meats, air-packed foods.
  • Temporary Shelter Supplies: tarps, blankets, and solar lamps with charging ports for communication and safety.
  • 🎈 Comfort & Play: toys like balls and hula-hoops that don’t require batteries — helping children find joy amid loss.

🏠 4. Phase 2: Rebuilding & Empowerment

G.O.A.L is here for the long haul. Phase 2 focuses on rebuilding and restoring independence.

  • 🪚 Supplying raw materials and flat-pack temporary housing units.
  • 🏫 Helping restore and repair local schools so children can return to learning.
  • 🧱 Launching community-led construction projects where locals and volunteers build together.
  • 🎶 Providing music therapy sessions and free community concerts to foster healing and unity.
  • 🌱 Supplying seeds and seedlings to replant farms and revive St. Elizabeth’s breadbasket heritage.

🌾 5. Why St. Elizabeth Matters — Jamaica’s Breadbasket

  • In 2017, St. Elizabeth recorded over 29,000 registered farmers — the most in Jamaica.
  • The parish produced approximately 102,657 tonnes of domestic food crops, a major share of the nation’s output.
  • It accounts for around 9% of Jamaica’s farmland and is famous for vegetables, condiments, fruits (pineapples, melons), and 80% of the country’s peanut production.
  • Much of its produce supplies local hotels and is exported abroad, making its recovery essential to Jamaica’s food security.

When St. Elizabeth suffers, Jamaica suffers. Rebuilding its farms means reviving the nation’s economy and future.
